The home theater receiver or AV receiver, as some call it, is the central unit of the home entertainment system. Without it, all other components, would probably not be able to offer. What is a Receiver?

Of course, the main purpose behind audio/video switching with a receiver is to drive audio to external speakers, like surround sound or stereo speakers.
